Job Summary

OpenGov is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to contribute to the continuous monitoring and operation of our Information Security program. This role is instrumental in ensuring the integrity of our Information Security program and that our cloud and on-prem environments are resilient, observable, and defensible. You’ll work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to respond to and enhance protections, document our automated and manual playbooks, and contribute to our Security Incident Response process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the monitoring and operation of internal security tools and automation pipelines to enhance visibility and enforce security controls across infrastructure.

  • Become a primary SME of OpenGov’s Detection and Response tooling and processes.

  • Triage and response of incoming threat detections, including responding to escalations from Junior Security Analysts, and driving investigations to completion.

  • Ensure team wide adherence to response and escalation SLAs and runbook policies, providing feedback and updates to ensure they are consistent and accurate.

  • Lead Information Security efforts on the deployment, testing, and documentation of new security tooling

  • Own the operational duties of critical security tools, including vulnerability management platforms, CSPM, SIEM, Incident Response, secrets management, application security scanning systems, endpoint protection systems and others.

  • Create and maintain custom detection rules, alerts, and remediations for cloud-native services, using tools such as Rapid7, SentinelOne or other modern security software solutions.

  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and automated health checks for deployed tools to ensure operational excellence.

  • Contribute to Incident Response activities, including acting as Security SME or Incident Commander.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of SOC or similar experience, with a focus on infrastructure or cloud security.

  • Deep understanding of cloud environments (AWS & Azure) and experience securing cloud-native services.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with deployment and operation of tools such as Wiz, SentinelOne, Palo Alto, or similar, with a heavy emphasis on automation.

  • Ability to break down complex security challenges into scalable technical solutions.
