The Lead Consultant will provide experienced cybersecurity support across multiple client engagements to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within the available budget to meet customer requirements. This role independently executes substantial portions of cybersecurity engagements and supports efforts involving RMF, A&A, cyber compliance, vulnerability management, secure configuration, and systems security engineering. The Lead Consultant works closely with project leadership and clients to deliver high-quality technical services and written deliverables across multiple cybersecurity opportunities.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute cybersecurity project tasks across multiple client opportunities to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
    • Support project managers with planning, status reporting, issue tracking, and execution of assigned workstreams.
    • Review project plans, schedules, and work authorizations to understand scope and assigned responsibilities.
    • Participate in client and internal project meetings and provide technical updates on assigned work.
    • Conduct research, technical analysis, and data gathering to support project objectives.
    • Prepare written reports, technical documentation, briefings, and presentations.
    • Track and report hours spent executing projects.
    • Support quality assurance reviews of project deliverables.
  • Support engagements involving:
    • RMF implementation and sustainment.
    • A&A package development and maintenance.
    • Security control assessment support.
    • Vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking.
    • Compliance reviews and audit support.
    • System hardening, patch management, and configuration review.
    • Technical report and presentation development.
  • Capture and refine cybersecurity operational and security requirements and help ensure those requirements are addressed through implementation of appropriate controls.
  • Prepare and maintain cybersecurity artifacts such as SSPs, SAR inputs, POA&Ms, policies, procedures, inventories, and risk documentation.
  • Review system configurations and technical documentation for alignment with applicable requirements and standards.
  • Conduct analysis of vulnerability data, scan results, remediation status, and compliance findings.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other technical staff to resolve issues, close action items, and manage deadlines.
  • Serve as a technical lead for defined workstreams and provide guidance to less senior team members as needed.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts, technical responses, and internal capability development.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as necessary to meet business needs.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or equivalent STEM discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in cybersecurity, RMF, system security engineering, information assurance, or related fields.
  • Must have or be able to get and maintain an Active Security Clearance.
  • Professional certification preferred. (CASP+, CySA+, Securit+, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CGRC)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working experience with NIST Risk Management Framework, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience with implementing security controls, documenting compliance, and supporting authorization activities.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment, scanning, configuration changes, software and hardware updates, and securing configurations.
  • Experience with tools such as Nessus, ACAS, eMASS, and related cybersecurity platforms preferred.
  • Understanding of network security principles, operating systems, and secure architecture concepts.
  • Ability to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to closure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and work effectively in a team-oriented client environment.
  • Experience with PowerShell or Python preferred.
  • Navy, NAVSEA, MSC, RMF, or broader federal/DoD experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Salary: 

$80 -95k

Country Requirements

U.S. Citizenship required for roles supporting government contracts.
