Position Summary
Accendra Health is seeking a Junior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to help protect our organization from evolving cyber threats. In this role, you will review, triage, and respond to cybersecurity alerts and incidents as part of a 24×7 operations team. This position may require availability across first, second, and third shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.

Essential Job Functions
- Continuously monitor and triage security alerts and incident queues.
- Execute documented incident response processes and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the health of security sensors and SIEM infrastructure.
- Gather event data, context, and indicators for escalation to Level 2 analysts.
- Generate scheduled and ad‑hoc security reports.
Supplemental Responsibilities
- Support additional cybersecurity tasks and projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with peers and team leads to investigate events and improve processes.
- Meet goals while operating effectively in a remote work environment.
Education & Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in an Information Technology or related role.
- Demonstrated interest or foundational knowledge in cybersecurity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, ports, and protocols.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems, including filesystems, processes, auditing, and logging.
- Basic understanding of security technologies:
- Antivirus
- Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)
- Firewalls
- Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
- Web proxies
- Authentication and identity services
- Ability to prioritize multiple active tasks.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Scripting or development experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl) is a plus.
