Not-for-profit education society founded in 2004 by NIIT's promoters, running CSR-driven digital literacy, skill development, and cyber security awareness programs for underserved communities across India.

NIIT Foundation is a not-for-profit education society set up in 2004 by the promoters of NIIT. It implements CSR programs for corporates and corporate foundations and partners with NGOs to deliver education and skill development initiatives for underserved communities across India. Cyber security appears here as a curriculum and awareness domain rather than a defensive operations function: the foundation runs cyber security awareness and training programs alongside digital literacy, financial literacy, and community awareness work aimed at populations with limited prior exposure to connected technology.

The threat model, in practice, is the end user at the grassroots - phishing, fraud, unsafe account hygiene, and misuse of unfamiliar devices. Delivery channels match that audience: a mobile Digital Bus initiative, Hole-in-the-Wall self-learning computer stations placed in underserved areas, and community awareness programs reaching what the organization describes as "the unreached, uncared and unattended." The rest of the portfolio includes career and skill development programs, NSQF-aligned training and assessment, and AI-enabled training in the IT-ITeS domain.

Operating footprint is pan-India, across 28 states and 3 Union Territories. NIIT Foundation is recognized by NCVET as an Awarding Body (Dual) for NSQF-aligned training, assessments, and certifications, and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management systems. It has been Great Place To Work certified for three consecutive years. The organization's mode of working is partnership-based - corporates, corporate foundations, and NGOs - rather than direct-to-consumer.
