The Opportunity

"We are seeking a technically driven and versatile Cyber Security Engineer to join FICO's Cyber Security Trust Team, focused on customer onboarding security. This role sits at the intersection of security engineering, software development, solution architecture review, and AI, making it a uniquely hands-on and high-impact position within FICO's security organization.The engineer will be responsible for performing end-to-end security scoping for customer onboarding projects by reviewing Solution Architecture & Design Documents (SADDs), identifying security risks and requirements. Given that customer solutions involve complex cloud-hosted platforms, REST APIs, orchestration workflows, and multi-component microservice architectures, the engineer must be expert in coding, building automation scripts, and working with AI-driven workflows to perform thorough and accurate security assessments." – Manager, Cyber Security.

What You’ll Contribute 

  • Develop Python/Shell security automation scripts and CI/CD-integrated workflows (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Perform secure code reviews across Python, Shell, Java, REST/JSON APIs, and automate vulnerability management/compliance tasks.
  • Build secure IaC solutions for cloud provisioning and collaborate on secure coding practices.
  • Conduct security scoping and onboarding assessments, including vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk analysis.
  • Review customer SADDs, AWS environments, REST APIs, and orchestration workflows for security posture and compliance gaps.
  • Manage onboarding security projects via ServiceNow and coordinate with cross-functional security teams.
  • Monitor security events using Splunk, configure WAF policies, and track findings/projects through Jira.
  • Maintain documentation for security configurations, assessments, and onboarding activities.

What We’re Seeking 

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in a Cyber Security Engineering role, enterprise technology design and support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Config).
  • Solid development and scripting skills in Python and/or Shell; ability to read code across languages (Java, REST/JSON).
  • Experience reviewing SADDs and performing security scoping and risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and orchestration platforms (PLOR, DMP) from a security perspective.
  • Proficiency with Splunk for security monitoring and log analysis.
  • Experience with Jira for security issue tracking and WAF configuration and management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux environments.
  • Understanding of penetration testing and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (OWASP, NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent communication skills, high initiative, and strong follow-through.
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts including incident, change, and problem management.
