Cybersecurity Analyst – DHS Counter‑Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C‑UAS) Program
Overview:
The Cybersecurity Analyst supports the DHS C‑UAS Program by securing information systems, networks, operational technologies, and mission data associated with counter‑drone activities. This includes protecting systems from cyber threats, ensuring continuity, and supporting mission readiness.
Role Impact
This role hardens DHS C‑UAS systems against cyberattack, protecting mission availability and the integrity of detection, tracking, and assessment capabilities that safeguard critical infrastructure and public safety.
Locations: Annapolis, MD, Baltimore, MD, or DC.
Salary Range: $170,000 - $180,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements cybersecurity safeguards and monitors mission networks for threats.
- Conducts vulnerability detection and assessment.
- Investigates and documents cybersecurity incidents.
- Provides regular reporting and trend analysis.
- Develops and maintains disaster recovery and continuity plans.
- Configures and operates firewalls, encryption, and endpoint security.
- Conducts penetration tests and security assessments.
- Evaluates emerging cyber threats and recommends enhancements.
- Develops cybersecurity policies and ensures compliance.
- Trains staff on cybersecurity procedures and secure UAS operations.
- Support penetration tests of targeting networks, operating systems, cloud services, RF‑connected components, and C‑UAS interfaces.
- Assist with the development of cybersecurity plans, controls, and baselines for C‑UAS programs.
- Aid in the implementation of hardened configurations, secure architectures, and layered controls aligned with DHS cybersecurity engineering capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S citizen with a valid secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6-10+ years’ experience in cybersecurity operations, network defense, and incident response.
- Experience with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, EDR/SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption, PKI, SOC tools).
- Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and threat modeling.
- Experience with UAS/C‑UAS technologies.
- Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- DHS, DoD, IC, or critical‑infrastructure cyber operations experience.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full time, exempt position.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Must be a U.S citizen with the ability to possess a valid US DoD security clearance.
