About Edged Data Centers Edged is a fast-growing provider of sustainable data centers and energy infrastructure. The company builds and operates a global network of ultra-efficient, AI-ready data centers with waterless cooling for colocation, hyperscale and build-to-suit customers. Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage all aspects of Edged’s cybersecurity program, including architecture, operations, and compliance.
- Oversee and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team, currently with two direct reports.
- Manage relationships and contracts with third-party cyber vendors, including vCISO (FRSecure), MDR (Rapid7), and others.
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls and processes to protect data center and enterprise assets.
- Ensure secure solutions are deployed that balance robust protection with end-user usability.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business teams to meet ISO 27001, PCI, and SOC 2 certification requirements.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Lead incident response, investigation, and post-incident reviews.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events using MDR/SIEM tools.
- Oversee vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation efforts.
- Manage and report on cybersecurity KPIs
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices.
- Support company audits and maintain documentation for compliance. Accountable for meeting the IT portions of compliance audits.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide executive-level support as required.
- Understand, document and monitor all data flows within to/from organizational assets.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve critical network connectivity issues. Provide senior level escalation for complex problems
- Part of on-call support rotation to provide 24 x 7 remote and executive support as required.
- Must be willing to work off-hours / weekends to support operational tasks as needed.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Experience working in data center operations or critical infrastructure environments is required.
- Hands-on experience with MDR vendors (Rapid7 preferred).
- Strong background in Microsoft security solutions (Defender, Purview).
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, PCI, SOC 2.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet demanding deadlines.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) are a plus.
- Be willing to travel up to 25% to remote sites.
Specific Skills / Abilities
- Security architecture and operations for enterprise and data center environments.
- Hands-on technical skills in security tools, MDR, SIEM, and Microsoft security stack.
- Experience with compliance audits and maintaining certification readiness.
- Incident response, investigation, and remediation.
- Vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
