Key Responsibilities

AI‑Driven Security Operations

• Architect and lead Axos’s AI‑enabled SecOps transformation by designing and deploying automated triage, enrichment, correlation, anomaly‑detection, root‑cause analysis, and response pipelines—built on resilient, production‑grade engineering patterns.
• Build and maintain production‑ready AI integrations that enhance Security Operations, including model‑driven detection logic, automated decision‑support systems, and event‑driven response workflows.
• Drive a systematic and aggressive reduction of manual operational workload by engineering automation, self‑healing response mechanisms, and AI‑augmented analyst workflows across all security domains.

Leadership & Organization Management

• Lead, scale, and mature the offshore Manila cybersecurity engineering organization—spanning Application Security, SecOps Engineering, Automation, and offensive testing—ensuring high technical rigor, consistent delivery, and strong partnership with U.S. teams.
• Establish and operationalize engineering frameworks that drive measurable productivity, high‑fidelity execution, performance accountability, and continuous skill advancement across all offshore teams.
• Build data‑driven management discipline by delivering engineering dashboards, KPIs, operational telemetry, and executive‑ready reporting that provide real‑time visibility into security posture, threat trends, team performance, and engineering throughput.
• Strengthen cultural alignment and engineering cohesion across global teams by driving shared standards, technical excellence, repeatable workflows, and high‑velocity delivery practices.
• Develop succession pipelines and structured capability‑uplift programs—including technical mentoring, offensive and defensive skill tracks, certification roadmaps, and engineering career frameworks—to continuously elevate the maturity and long‑term resilience of the Manila cybersecurity organization.

Application Security

• Own the engineering lifecycle of the Application Security program by leading offensive testing efforts (internal red‑team operations and third‑party penetration testing), engineering and operating the AppSec platform stack—including Cloudflare WAF, Traceable AI, and F5 Bot Defense—and building robust detection, telemetry, and response mechanisms to identify, investigate, and mitigate application‑layer threats at scale.
• Strengthen and elevate the internal Red Team by developing advanced offensive engineering capabilities, maturing tooling and automation, expanding technical depth in application‑layer attack simulation, and establishing repeatable, high‑fidelity testing workflows that continuously stress‑test Axos applications and identify engineering‑grade weaknesses before threat actors do.
• Champion engineering‑centric security standards that reduce friction and accelerate secure delivery.

Program Governance, Risk, and Reporting

• Produce executive‑level progress reporting, risk metrics, and operational insights for the CISO and senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of combined experience in security engineering, cybersecurity leadership, cloud security, AI/ML engineering, or software engineering.
• Demonstrated success leading high‑performing engineering teams, preferably with offshore team management experience.
• Proven track record driving automation at scale, modernizing security operations, and implementing AI‑enhanced security programs.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executives, engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Experience building and executing multi‑year modernization roadmaps in complex technical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in highly regulated industries (financial services, fintech, payments).
• Publications, patents, or industry‑recognized contributions in security, cloud architecture, or AI/ML.
• Leadership roles spanning engineering, architecture, security operations, and product security.

Success Criteria (First 3–6 Months)

• AI‑driven SecOps workflows reduce manual workload by 40–60% through structured automation.
• Increase Manila engineering throughput by ≥25%, measured using sprint velocity, engineering output metrics, ticket closure rates, and throughput benchmarks.
• AppSec program reaches a defined maturity level with embedded automation and SDLC governance.
• Executives receive consistent, data‑rich reporting that improves decision‑making and risk visibility.
• Establish measurable OKRs for AppSec, SecOps Engineering; adopt within the first 90 days.
