Saint Louis University is a Catholic, Jesuit institution that's been around for more than 200 years. We were the first university west of the Mississippi River, founded back in 1818. Today, we have campuses in St. Louis and Madrid, Spain, offering nearly 100 undergraduate and 140 graduate programs. Our students get to work alongside faculty on groundbreaking research - sometimes as early as their freshman year - and we're recognized as an R1 research institution.
What makes SLU different is how we combine academic rigor with our commitment to faith and service. We have over 250 student organizations, comprehensive libraries and academic support, and a campus community that values both intellectual growth and personal development. Whether students are studying here in St. Louis or at our Madrid campus, they're part of a community that's been pushing boundaries in education, research, and healthcare for two centuries.
