In 1952, Heras was founded by Frans Ruigrok who began with just 750 guildens in a rented garage in Eindhoven. From these humble beginnings as a small Dutch family business specializing in fencing and gates, Ruigrok noticed a fundamental gap in perimeter protection that others were overlooking. What started as local craftsmanship would soon transform into an European security leader, driven by the realization that protecting what matters most - whether construction sites, industrial facilities, or public spaces - required both innovation and reliability.
The company's evolution continued with Heras Mobile's pioneering invention of the temporary construction fence in 1966, introducing wire mesh solutions that revolutionized site security. By 1990, they produced Europe's first steel mesh temporary fence, the M90, which remains in production today. Now operating across 25 countries with over 1,100 experts, Heras has expanded from simple fencing to comprehensive 360° security solutions encompassing perimeter protection, technical security, industrial doors, and road safety - fulfilling the founder's vision of becoming Europe's trusted guardian of valuable assets and safe environments.
