What you’ll be doing:
- Monitor, investigate, respond to, and resolve security alerts, suspicious emails, and security-related tickets within established service timeframes, escalating when additional review or support is needed.
- Support the IT Security department by assisting with investigations of unusual activity and potential threats, as assigned.
- Participate in security awareness programs and share practical tips to help employees protect themselves and our members’ information.
- Document investigation findings and keep assigned tickets updated.
- Develop and apply knowledge of security tools to support monitoring, investigations, and the cybersecurity program.
- Maintain awareness of information security trends, emerging threats, and best practices to support effective information security and cybersecurity practices.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
You’ll need:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent work experience, required.
- Foundational knowledge of IT or cybersecurity concepts, required.
- Basic understanding of common security threats, including phishing and malware, and practices used to protect accounts and sensitive information.
- Interest in cybersecurity with a willingness to learn new tools and continue developing technical skills.
- Problem-solving and research skills, with ability to ask questions and recognize when additional support or escalation is needed.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees of various levels of technical knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 products.
