About the Role (Your Why)

The Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Consultant role is responsible for providing strategic and technical expertise across all aspects of Identity and Access Management, helping organisations strengthen security, improve user access experiences, and protect critical systems and data from unauthorised access. This is an opportunity to join a growing Identity Security practice delivering modern identity solutions across Workforce and Customer Identity domains. You will work with leading technologies, support digital transformation initiatives, and help customers strengthen security while improving user experience.

Due to the possible clients you would work with, you must be a permanent resident or citizen of New Zealand to meet security requirements,

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and support Workforce IAM solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Entra External ID, Azure B2C, Okta/Auth0, Saviynt, CyberArk, Delinea across enterprise environments.
  • Configure and manage:
    • Single Sign-On (SSO)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    • Conditional Access
    • Identity Protection
    • Privileged Identity Management (PIM)/Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Identity Governance
    • Access Reviews
    • Lifecycle Workflows
  • Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least-privilege access models.
  • Support identity lifecycle processes including:
    • Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML)
    • Provisioning and deprovisioning
    • Access requests and approvals
    • Access certifications and attestation
  • Integrate enterprise applications with identity providers using:
    • SAML
    • OAuth 2.0
    • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
    • SCIM
    • WS-Federation where required.
  • Design and support secure and scalable CIAM platforms.
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Custom authentication journeys
    • User registration and profile management
    • Social and federated identity integrations
    • Adaptive and passwordless authentication experiences
  • Consulting and Delivery Responsibilities
    • Participate in IAM strategy, architecture, and transformation initiatives.
    • Conduct IAM assessments and maturity reviews.
    • Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior IAM consultants where required.
    • Support managed services and operational IAM activities as needed.
    • Produce high-quality technical and business documentation including:
      • Solution designs
      • Architecture diagrams
      • Statements of Work (SoW)
      • Assessment reports
      • Runbooks and operational procedures

What You’ll Bring:

We are seeking a highly capable Mid to Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist to join our growing identity security practice in New Zealand. This role requires deep expertise across both Workforce Identity and Access Management (WIAM) and Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), supporting organisations to design, implement, and optimise modern identity solutions.

 The successful candidate will possess strong technical and consulting capabilities with hands-on experience across Microsoft Entra ID, Saviynt, Auth0, Azure AD B2C (Microsoft Entra External ID for Customers), and Microsoft Entra External ID.

 This role involves delivering secure, scalable, and business-aligned identity solutions while working closely with customers, project teams, and security stakeholders, along with:

  • 8+ years' experience in Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience with:
    • Active Directory and hybrid identity
    • PowerShell or automation scripting
    • Azure Functions and API integrations
    • DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches for IAM
    • PAM and Zero Trust concepts.
  • Experience working within consulting or customer-facing delivery environments.
  • Personal Attributes
