Cybersecurity Engineer

As a member of the cybersecurity services team, you will contribute to strengthening the organisation’s cybersecurity posture by implementing, reviewing and operating advanced security controls, policies and technical measures. Acting as a trusted external expert, you will work closely with ICT and security stakeholders to ensure secure operations, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities in a complex, international environment.

The role is based in GREECE.

Responsibilities:

  • Cybersecurity Action Plan, including:
    • Subscription and monitoring of vendor security patch and vulnerability notification channels for all online services
    • Design and introduction of automated patch management solutions for Microsoft and third‑party software, enabling critical vulnerability remediation within 48 hours
    • Research, deployment and operation of automated vulnerability scanning and reporting for online services and workstations on a daily basis
    • Integration of IEEE 802.1x protocol within the network infrastructure
  • Review cybersecurity policies from a technical perspective, including:
    • Incident Management Policy
    • Cryptographic Algorithms Policy
    • Data Sanitisation and Secure Disposal Policy
    • Backup and Restore Policy
    • ICT Systems and Services Acquisition Policy (supply chain security)
    • System and Security Configuration Standards
    • ICT Vulnerabilities Management Standard
  • Lead Microsoft 365 security activities:
    • Review Microsoft‑recommended security configuration settings
    • Remediate at least 90% of identified findings from Microsoft and CERT‑EU security assessments
  • Assess, investigate, test and provide expert opinions on security events, incidents and threats
  • Support the organisation and execution of phishing awareness exercises
  • Research Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) certification authorities across multiple countries for end‑user document signing
  • Participate in cybersecurity exercises such as Splunk Boss of the SOC (BOTS) and other EU‑level security drills
  • Draft high‑quality technical documentation, including incident reports, playbooks and procedures
  • Deliver presentations and briefings on cybersecurity topics to ICT and non‑technical audiences
  • Conduct small market surveys on cybersecurity products and emerging technologies

Technical skills:

  • Proven senior‑level expertise as a Cybersecurity Engineer
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
    • Linux (Ubuntu), Docker, Windows 11
    • Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
    • Microsoft Sensitivity Labels and M365 security controls
    • TLS, OpenSSL, encryption (public key, symmetric), email encryption
    • Drupal
    • Atlassian Jira & Confluence
  • Practical experience with vulnerability management, patching automation and incident response
  • Excellent command of English (C1 level) – spoken and written
  • Knowledge of Greek is a strong advantage

Profile:

  • Senior professional, with the ability to carry out most of the tasks autonomously and to a high standard
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related field
  • Ability to analyse complex security issues and propose effective, pragmatic solutions
  • Strong documentation and report‑writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to participate effectively in multilingual and multicultural meetings
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to fast‑evolving cybersecurity technologies and threats
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and quality‑driven mindset
