Universal DX

About

In 2012, Universal DX was born from a powerful realization: cancer could be transformed from a deadly disease into a curable one if only we could detect it early enough. The founders saw a critical gap in cancer diagnostics - traditional screening methods were invasive, inconvenient, and often detected cancer too late. They envisioned a future where a simple blood test could reveal cancer's earliest signals, when treatment options are most plentiful and survival rates are highest.

Starting with deep expertise in multi-omics, computational biology, and machine learning, the team set out to "crack cancer's code" in the blood. They built a technological platform capable of reading the subtle molecular signals that cancer cells shed into the bloodstream. Their first breakthrough, Signal-C®, is a liquid biopsy test that accurately detects colorectal cancer with 93% sensitivity and 92% specificity, even identifying precancerous lesions. Now, with headquarters spanning Madrid, Ljubljana, Cambridge, and Dallas, and a strategic collaboration with Quest Diagnostics, Universal DX is expanding their multicancer platform to detect other high-burden cancers, bringing them closer to their ambitious mission: a future where cancer is not just treatable, but preventable and curable.

RTX

RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, formed in 2020 through the merger of Raytheon Company and United Technologies Corporation, and rebranded to its current name in 2023. With roots stretching back to 1922 and more than 185,000 employees operating globally, the company delivers advanced systems and services spanning commercial, military, and government sectors - covering everything from seabed to space. The company's technical portfolio extends across aircraft engines, avionics, aerostructures, guided missiles, air defense systems, satellites, and drones. Within this sprawling domain, RTX develops and deploys cybersecurity solutions as a distinct product line, addressing threats across its aerospace and defense infrastructure. Given the company's scale and the criticality of its systems - many operating in contested or classified environments - cybersecurity work here likely intersects with aviation safety systems, weapons guidance, satellite communications, and government network defense. RTX's cybersecurity function operates within an organization that serves both commercial aviation customers and defense clients, meaning practitioners encounter threat models ranging from nation-state adversaries targeting missile systems to aviation safety requirements for commercial aircraft. The company's work inherently involves protecting operational technology, embedded systems, and complex supply chains across multiple security clearance levels. Christopher T. Calio serves as CEO, leading an organization headquartered in the United States with global operations.

SpaceX

In 2002, Elon Musk recognized a fundamental problem with space exploration: the costs were astronomical and rocket technology had remained stagnant for decades. After attempting to purchase Russian rockets and finding them prohibitively expensive, he realized that dramatic cost reductions through reusable rockets were essential for humanity's future among the stars. This insight led him to found SpaceX with the ambitious goal of revolutionizing space technology and ultimately making life multi-planetary. From its humble beginnings in Hawthorne, California, SpaceX has evolved from a disruptive startup into an industry leader that fundamentally changed how we access space. The company achieved what many deemed impossible: developing rockets that can launch, return to Earth, and fly again. By perfecting reusable rocket technology with Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy, SpaceX dramatically lowered launch costs while increasing reliability. Today, the company not only delivers cargo and astronauts to the International Space Station but also operates the world's largest satellite constellation with Starlink, all while pushing toward the ultimate goal of establishing a self-sustaining city on Mars.
