Septentrio

About

Septentrio builds the hardware that makes precise positioning reliable when jamming, spoofing, or plain physics make GPS lie. A 2000 imec spin-off acquired by Hexagon in 2025, the company engineers multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS receivers that deliver decimeter- to centimeter-level accuracy under active interference - anti-jamming protection and resilience to spoofing threats are baked in at the firmware level, not bolted on after the fact.

The threat model is concrete: industrial and autonomous systems where a corrupted position fix means equipment damage, safety incidents, or mission failure. That's why the receivers show up in marine navigation, mining operations, precision agriculture, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and defense - domains where the cost of a wrong coordinate is measured in more than rounding errors.

Over 25 years in operation, the technical stack spans GNSS signal processing, multi-constellation tracking across GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou, and interference mitigation. The team owns the full chain from receiver firmware to antenna integration, with a customer-centric approach to support and ongoing firmware updates. Worldwide geographic presence backs deployments where the positioning problem doesn't wait for business hours.
