Renmoney is a digital lending platform based in Nigeria, operational since 2012. The company combines traditional and alternative data to extend credit to under-banked individuals and small businesses, having issued over ₦132 billion in loans. Its technical stack centers on digital lending, alternative data modeling, and the development of mobile and web platforms.
For a security team, the threat model is layered. The platform processes high-volume financial transactions and handles sensitive personal and financial data from a user base that may have limited digital literacy, making social engineering and account takeover persistent risks. The core lending product relies on statistically driven models fed by alternative data sources - securing the integrity and confidentiality of that data pipeline is non-trivial. The attack surface also includes web and mobile applications, payment solutions, savings, and investment products.
The team of over 500 professionals operates across Lagos with remote and hybrid arrangements. Security work would intersect with the full stack: application security for the lending and payments platforms, data security for the alternative data modeling systems, and infrastructure protection for a high-throughput financial services environment operating in a single, high-growth market.
