In 2000, Prof. Yoram Palti found that electric fields at specific frequencies could disrupt cancer cell division. That insight became Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), a therapy that uses alternating electric fields to fight tumors without the side effects of traditional treatments. We've come a long way since those early experiments - treating our first patient in Switzerland, gaining FDA approvals, and building devices that patients use at home.
Today we're extending survival in some of the most aggressive cancers: glioblastoma, mesothelioma, pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. Our products - Optune Gio, Optune Lua, and Optune Pax - deliver TTFields therapy to thousands of patients worldwide.
