Position Overview
As a Check Point Pre-Sales Engineer (Distributor), you will serve as the primary Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Check Point Software Technologies across our regional partner ecosystem. You will drive sales growth by bridging the gap between business requirements and Check Point's security architecture—including Quantum, Cloud Security (formerly CloudGuard), Harmony (Users/Access), and Infinity (XDR/Management).Unlike a direct vendor or partner role, your primary focus includes scaling technical capability across our reseller network, delivering high-impact proofs-of-concept (PoCs), leading architecting efforts for complex partner deals, and building strong relationships with Check Point’s local channel engineering teams.
1. Channel Enablement & Technical Practice Building
- Partner Onboarding & Upskilling: Design and execute technical enablement programs, workshops, and hands-on bootcamps for partner SEs and engineers.
- Certification Coaching: Assist partner engineers in acquiring and maintaining Check Point certifications (e.g., CCSA, CCSE, CCME).
- Demo Environment Management: Build, maintain, and showcase a state-of-the-art Check Point lab environment for partners to run live customer demos.
2. Pre-Sales & Technical Deal Support
- Solution Architecture: Collaborate with partner/sales account teams to gather customer requirements and design end-to-end Check Point security solutions.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) & Sizing: Generate accurate BOMs, appliance sizing recommendations, and architecture diagrams.
- RFP / RFI Ownership: Support partners in answering complex technical RFPs, RFIs, and security compliance questionnaires.
- Proof of Concept (PoC) Leadership: Lead PoC deployments, evaluation testing, and security feature demonstrations to validate solution efficacy for end customers.
3. Vendor & Business Unit Alignment
- Vendor Collaboration: Act as the main technical liaison to Check Point’s local channel SEs, technical directors, and distribution account managers.
- Product NPI (New Product Introduction): Stay ahead of Check Point’s product roadmap (e.g., Quantum Titan OS updates, AI-driven threat prevention, CloudGuard additions) and translate new features into business value for partners.
- Competitive Intelligence: Deliver competitive positioning against rival vendors for partner sales teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical Skills
- Deep Hands-on Experience: Proven track record (2–5+ years) deploying, configuring, or designing Check Point security platforms:
- Network Security: Check Point Quantum Security Gateways, Maestro Orchestration, SandBlast Network (Threat Emulation & Extraction).
- Management: Check Point Security Management Server, SmartConsole, Multi-Domain Management (MDSM).
- Cloud & Endpoint (Desirable): CloudGuard Posture/Workload management, Harmony Endpoint/Browse/SASE.
- Core Networking Knowledge: Strong grasp of TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF routing, VPNs (IPsec/SSL), VLANs, NAT, and high-availability architecture.
- Certifications (Plus Points):
- Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
- Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
- Check Point Certified Master Expert (CCME) or Maestro specialization is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Netpoleon’s cybersecurity vendor ecosystem (https://www.netpoleons.com/products-sg.html).
Professional Experience & Soft Skills
- Background: Minimum 2+ years in a Pre-Sales, Systems Engineering, or Solutions Architect role within a Value-Added Distributor (VAD), System Integrator (SI), or Vendor.
- Communication: Outstanding presentation skills — capable of presenting to C-level executives and stakeholders.
