Job Overview

As a Cyber Security Architect at Milestone Technologies, you will play a critical role in advancing our cyber security program. Collaborating across IT teams and organizational units, you will ensure our software and systems adhere to best security practices while maintaining operational effectiveness. Your efforts will mitigate risks, enhance our security posture, and protect critical national infrastructure.

The primary responsibility is the maintenance, support, and front-line management of our cybersecurity strategies and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze the organization’s cyber security posture; recommend improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures; manage CVE remediation programs.
  • Guide the security team by planning solution delivery and providing technical expertise.
  • Design and architect secure IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop, review, and approve installation and configuration standards for LANs, WANs, VPNs, firewalls, routers, etc.
  • Establish security protocols aligned with business requirements.
  • Respond to security incidents and perform thorough post-event analyses.
  • Create and manage project timelines for system upgrades and security enhancements.
  • Conduct continuous security testing and monitoring of network systems.
  • Develop and execute test scripts to verify security measures.
  • Continuously update knowledge on security best practices and industry standards via training and professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of IT risk management, cyber security principles, and operating systems.
  • Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and multi-factor authentication implementation.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and guide cybersecurity engineers, providing clear, client-informed solutions.
  • Experience designing and deploying security solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker) and scripting languages.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Security certification: SSCP required; CISSP preferred.
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures (preferred).
  • Experience developing security policies, standards, and procedures (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (ITIL certification preferred).
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Strong expertise in DevSecOps and secure system design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience with 5-7 years in Information Security Engineering or a similar role.
