MacGregor designs, manufactures, and services maritime cargo and load-handling equipment - cranes, hatch covers, steering gear, deck machinery, and offshore systems - supported by a global service network.
MACGREGOR PTE. LTD. builds and maintains the hardware that moves cargo at sea: cargo cranes, steel hatch covers, container stowage systems, deck machinery, steering gear, RoRo equipment, and offshore load-handling gear. For anyone thinking about maritime operational technology, that portfolio is the attack surface conversation. Steering gear and crane control systems are not desktop endpoints; they are safety-critical equipment operating on vessels and offshore platforms, in use for decades, and increasingly wrapped in remote support and modernisation services delivered across a service network of more than 30 locations worldwide.
The engineering lineage is long. Steel hatch covers were first developed by the MacGregor brothers in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1929; the company was formally formed in 1937. That heritage shows up in the installed base - legacy machinery still in service, original spare parts supplied globally, and local teams paired with remote diagnostics and upgrade programmes. The domain work spans marine cargo handling equipment engineering, steel hatch cover design, offshore load handling, and ship-to-well liquid CO₂ transfer technology, a newer solution for direct ship-to-well transfer of liquid CO₂.
Industry verticals run from commercial shipping and cargo handling through offshore, naval, and port and harbour operations, including naval access and port access equipment. The company operates globally under CEO Jonas Gustavsson, with stated emphasis on portfolio leadership, service excellence, and sustainable, efficient operations. For security practitioners, the interesting detail is structural: a fleet of connected, long-lived, safety-critical assets being modernised and remotely supported, spanning vessel, offshore, and port infrastructure.
