Fuse Energy is building a vertically integrated renewable energy company combining generation, real-time power trading, decentralized smart grid networks, and consumer energy products.
Fuse Energy is a 2022-founded renewables company that's attacking the grid from multiple angles at once - generation, real-time power trading, and consumer-facing products. Founded by former Revolut executives and backed by $100M from Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, and Accel, the company is building what it describes as the world's first vertically integrated renewable energy operation. The mission target: deliver a terawatt of renewable energy.
For security teams, the threat surface here is broad and genuinely interesting. Fuse operates across renewable energy generation, real-time power trading systems, decentralized energy networks, and smart grid technology. That means securing OT infrastructure on the generation side, latency-sensitive trading platforms where compromise means financial loss and grid instability, and a consumer-facing decentralised network of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for shifting energy usage and helping balance the grid. The company also targets grid stability services for AI data centers and energy-intensive industries - critical infrastructure by any definition.
The consumer product stack delivers energy at costs 30% below traditional suppliers and relies on a network of smart devices coordinating load shifting in real time. That's a lot of interconnected endpoints, real-time data flows, and financial incentive structures that need to be defended. If you're looking at energy-sector security, this is one of the more technically dense environments to work in - where compromise doesn't just mean data loss, it means potential grid-level consequences.
