Consensys

Remote (worldwide)1 open job

Consensys builds blockchain software and infrastructure - including Ethereum clients, the Linea L2, Infura, Web3Signer, and MetaMask - for developers and institutional financial firms worldwide.

The attack surface at Consensys is the obvious place to start. The company builds blockchain software and infrastructure across the onchain stack - Ethereum protocol clients Besu and Teku, the Linea Layer 2 network, the Infura developer platform, and MetaMask, which reaches more than 700 blockchain networks and is reported to protect $60 billion in digital assets against over half a trillion dollars in annual transaction volume. Founded in 2014, the firm has worked on Ethereum since the genesis block; the threat model is not hypothetical.

The technical domains where security work lands are specific: cryptography, key management and signing (Web3Signer sits in the portfolio for exactly that), wallet and custody technology, protocol software development, developer infrastructure and APIs, and institutional blockchain infrastructure. The product surface spans client software, L2 network operation, node infrastructure, and consumer wallet software - a mix that puts both protocol-level and key-custody failure modes on the table.

The team is described as more than 700 technologists, designers, cryptographers, product specialists and researchers working globally. On the institutional side, Consensys works with clients in asset management, banking, central banking, custody, central securities depositories, exchanges, and financial market infrastructure - moving beyond digital-asset pilots toward production systems. Engagements include advisory and technical work, tailored platform extensions, and managed infrastructure covering monitoring, upgrades, and incident response.
