Clyde Companies Inc.

Orem, Utah, US (On-site)1 open job

Clyde Companies Inc. is a family-owned group of businesses in heavy civil construction, building materials, asphalt, insurance, and real estate development, operating across the Western United States since 1926.

Clyde Companies Inc. is a family-owned group of businesses that has operated out of Springville, Utah since 1926 and now employs more than 6,000 team members across the Western United States. The group is deliberately heterogeneous: heavy civil construction under WW Clyde; building materials, asphalt production, and ready-mix concrete under Geneva Rock; operating companies Suncore, Sunpro, and BridgeSource; plus Beehive Insurance, Clyde Capital Group (capital and financial services), and HomeBuilt (real estate development). Thousands of projects are supported each year.

From a security standpoint, the interesting problem is the shape of the estate rather than any single product. This is not a uniform corporate IT footprint. It is a set of distinct businesses with distinct operating environments - field and project-based construction operations, plant and production operations for asphalt and ready-mix, materials logistics, and office-based insurance and financial services - coordinated at the group level while each company keeps local operating autonomy. Defending that means the threat model spans more than one class of system and more than one class of user, and it means the group structure itself is part of the architecture you would be working inside.

The organization describes itself as values-driven and "built to last," combining the agility of local operating companies with the resources of a larger organization. Its stated purpose is Building a Better Community, guided by four core values: We Value People, Our Word Is Our Bond, Always Give a Full Measure, and We Continuously Improve. Those values are said to shape work with employees, customers, partners, and communities.
