Cariflex

SG (On-site)1 open job

Cariflex develops, manufactures and markets high-purity isoprene rubber latex and synthetic isoprene rubber for medical and other high-value markets, from a Singapore HQ within Korea's DL Group.

Cariflex makes the materials the medical supply chain depends on: high-purity isoprene rubber latex (IR Latex) and synthetic isoprene rubber (IR) produced through proprietary anionic polymerization. The company is headquartered in Singapore and operates globally as a wholly owned subsidiary of DL Chemical Co., Ltd., the flagship of Korea's DL Group, which has more than 80 years of business history. It is the global leader in isoprene rubber latex and isoprene rubber for medical end markets, and the only company worldwide manufacturing anionic catalyst-based synthetic rubber and latex.

The product line is narrow and exacting. IR Latex is a synthetic latex made without the proteins found in natural rubber, combining natural rubber's mechanical properties, elasticity and softness with improved purity, clarity, flow and low gel content. It goes into surgical gloves, rubber stoppers and seals for drug containers, personal care products, and food contact applications. IR serves high-end medical applications and other high-value markets. Both are positioned at the top of the quality range in their categories.

The technical domains here are materials science, not software: anionic polymerization, synthetic rubber (polyisoprene), specialty polymers, and latex technology. The operational footprint spans Singapore and Korea with customers worldwide, and the end markets - pharmaceutical packaging, medical devices, food contact - are regulated ones where product integrity is the whole game. Roles touching manufacturing systems, plant IT, or enterprise infrastructure would sit at that boundary.
