3stepIT finances, deploys, manages, refreshes and securely disposes of workplace and data-center IT assets, offering data sanitization, ITAD, refurbishment and remarketing at scale from Helsinki.
3stepIT runs the back half of the enterprise hardware lifecycle - the part where laptops, servers and monitors leave a company's control and where data exposure is most plausibly a problem. Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with operations across Europe and North America and clients served worldwide, the company finances, deploys, manages, refreshes, disposes of and recovers value from workplace technology, data-center infrastructure and distributed technology assets. Roughly 7,000 clients, including banking and financial services firms and public-sector organizations, hand over more than 4.6 million assets under management.
The security-relevant surface is concrete: secure IT asset disposition and data sanitization on devices that have held enterprise data, backed by owned logistics and chain-of-custody handling as assets move out of customer environments. From there the work is physical as much as digital - six owned and operated refurbishment centers processing around one million devices a year, with nine out of ten laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones and monitors given a second life through refurbishment, remarketing and global trading. Operations span technology lifecycle management, IT asset management, ITAD, data sanitization, logistics, refurbishment, remarketing, global trading and IT financing.
The company has three decades of operating history and more than 450 employees. The stated customer outcomes are reduced operational complexity, stronger resilience, improved purchasing confidence and lower total cost - with sustainability running through the model via device reuse and value recovery. For security practitioners, the draw is the scale of the data-destruction and asset-tracking problem: millions of managed assets, high-assurance client verticals, and a physical pipeline that has to be auditable end to end.
